The first Religious Society of the area was organized and met at the Old Hickory School in Will County. The organization was a joint effort of eastern churches and theologians who were largely of the Congregational, Presbyterian, and Dutch Reformed denominations. Out of this came the Naperville, Downers Grove, and Lisle Congregational Churches.
On July 22 the church at Lisle was dedicated. The first worship service was held in the new church built on Ogden Avenue on property donated by James C. Hatch.
The Lisle Congregational Society was formally organized and a Constitution was adopted June 29.
The name was changed from Society to Church with the adoption of a new constitution on May 18. Public School was held in the church after the Lisle Public School building burned
The church was rededicated after a renovation which included the addition of a basement. The congregation met once at the Lisle school house during construction.

Land and buildings at 1008 Ogden purchased for parsonage. The congregation voted to ban raffles, auctions, dancing, drinking, and smoking in the church basement. The basement was a community meeting place for many years.

The congregation voted to become a part of the United Church of Christ
The Congregation took a vote to determine if they would sell their property on Ogden Avenue and build a new church on property on Main Street south of Riedy Road which they had purchased in 1965. The initiative failed to get the requisite 2/3 of the votes.
About 30 families left the church following the failure of the relocation vote. Most of them became founding members of Lumen Christi Presbyterian Church on Hobson Road.
New gas furnaces were installed to replace the oil burner. The tower was covered with aluminum siding. The foundation was waterproofed.
The newly remodeled basement Fellowship Hall was dedicated in June. Storm windows were added all around the church.
The entire church exterior was covered with aluminum siding. The well went dry at Christmas time, and a new one was dug.
The upper level of the church was completely rewired. New light fixtures were installed in the sanctuary and the narthex
The site identity sign was replaced with a modern sign. New pews, altar furniture, and a register desk for the narthex were installed.
